1.    Catch a Seattle Seahawks or Sounders FC Game

Are you a big football fan? If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you've probably heard about the 12th Man. And come September if you're not following every move that the Seattle Seahawks make, you're doing it wrong. Jump into the fall spirit and celebrate the most exciting football team around by watching the Seahawks work to make a run for the playoffs at CenturyLink Field! Also home to the Seattle Sounders, this is the best spot in town to catch a game and skyline views of the city in a 67,000-seat arena.

2. Bring Family or Friends to Stocker Farms

Is Stocker Farms just another average pumpkin patch? Nope! Not exactly! Although Stocker Farms has all the usual fun fall attractions—a corn maze, pumpkin patch, and campfire sites— the farm transforms into "Stalker Farms" during the month of October. Stalker Farms is made up of two walk-through horror-themed haunted attractions, Slasher Family Reunion and Pogo’s Funny Farm: Rulz. For those seeking a thrill, this is the perfect haunted cornfield adventure.

3.    Catch Fall(ing) Leaves

When it comes to finding spectacular fall colors, there’s plenty to see right here in the Pacific Northwest. From vibrant reds and oranges to brilliant golds and yellows, head to one of Seattle's many public parks to watch the leaves fall (extra points if you catch one in the act!).

  • Green Lake Park: Complete with a 2.8-mile walking loop which surrounds Green Lake, this is the perfect place to bring your family or pets to unleash some energy and take in the beautiful trees surrounding the lake.

  • Discovery Park: Seattle’s largest park takes up 534 acres on Magnolia Bluff, including colorful wooded areas, meadows, sand dunes, and dramatic cliffs.

  • Woodland Park: Best known for the neighboring Woodland Park Zoo, this park continues on the east side of Aurora, all the way down to the South end of Green Lake. The best fall color can be found near the many picnic areas and the large, wooded dog off-leash area.

4.    Take a Market Ghost Tour

Seattle can look a lot spookier at night. Get into the Halloween mood by checking out the haunted side of one of the busiest spots of the city. Pike Place Market's "Market Ghost Stories" offers a 75-minute excursion that leads you through the Market’s unusual arcades and alleys while sharing the often overlooked darker history of Seattle. By connecting each building and each landmark to the ghost stories told to you, you will see the Market in an entirely new way.

5. Fremont Oktoberfest

Do you know why Oktoberfest is celebrated in September? It comes down to fun-loving Germans wanting to celebrate during warmer September evenings. Who can blame them! Oktoberfest began as a celebration of a royal Bavarian marriage in 1810, but now it's celebrated around the world as an autumn festival of beer, bratwurst, and other German-inspired delights. Fremont Oktoberfest is Seattle's largest beer fest with 100+ beers and ciders for you to taste.
